Islands closure? - Koh Rong etc

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Islands closure? - Koh Rong etc

Post by Brucey93 »

Hi all,

I heard the islands are shut or about to? Anyone heard anything about this? I'm currently in PP and want to head there, but not sure if ferries still running?

I'm aware bars and stuff are shut, but just curious if I can actually still physically get to islands.

Thanks
George

Ferries are still operating to the Islands according to the Koh Wrong FB group, no indication that any of the islands have been, or are likely to be, placed on lock down.

In that case, it would be good if you could leave an update on the forum about the situation on the islands for other travellers and expats. :thumb:
Happy trails.

Here now on Samloeum. Has gotten very quiet day over day but ferries still operating and most businesses open. No loud music or parties and new check in form at hotels

Yeah, can confirm Koh Rong open, just understandably pretty quiet. However I'm staying in coconut bungalows on coconut beach with a mix of travellers and locals. It's a beautiful place.

Just from a local friend in PP, her friends work here and told her but it's probably about bars etc, not actually all accomodation and entry.
