You need to fix your Microsoft Account
You need to fix your Microsoft Account
Hello all,
I was trying to connect a bluetooth device to my computer and I keep getting the message, "You need to fix your Microsoft account for apps on your other devices to be able to launch apps and continue experiences on this device".
I have had this irritating message pop up for months and I think it is due to having a bootleg copy of Windows on my computer. I think it is now blocking me from adding other bluetooth devices.
Can this be fixed? Do I need to get another copy of Windows...or buy a legit copy? Does anyone know of someone who could install a new version of Windows 10 and back everything up?
Thanks

Linux Mint. Everything works and never any horseshit messages like that.
Re: You need to fix your Microsoft Account
Of course it depends on what device you want to connect and what you want to do with it, but maybe "Turn off Shared experiences"?

I feel for you! Its the ongoing message that will one day stop, in the case of my 8.1 devices. Yes, its so good of Microsoft to end the support. Their is no way round the situation neither, it's just a little waiting game, like the gadgets, being that of a Microsoft Surface and two Windows Smartphones, and I only ever had one smartphone prior to knowing I was going to move here.
But to Microsoft its just their movement onwards leaving behind older technical gadgets of their making and selling to now move forward. It does not help the ones who invested in the state of the art gadgets of yesterday.

Always "hope" but never "expect".

put this in the gogle search box and it will come up with many possible fixes. Most likely is you are using a pirate copy of windows or you are using a local account on your laptop and a microsoft account on the other devices or you are using multiple microsoft accounts or you have not updated your microsfot accout with your phone number

Re: You need to fix your Microsoft Account
I bought a Windows 10 key from Ebay for $3, and, surprisingly, it seems to be legit. Still working and still getting updates.
It's on my backup lappy as I use Linux Mint on my main one.

I also bought a copy from a site that somebody posted a few months back on here for about $2 or something. Worked like a charm and fully activated. It was also a PROFESSIONAL version, so have BitLocker as well. Sounds like it was a key that someone bought for a company, but ended up with too many or something, and sold them off for dirt cheap. I was really expecting to be out of a few dollars.timmydownawell wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 1:16 pm I bought a Windows 10 key from Ebay for $3, and, surprisingly, it seems to be legit. Just checked and it was actually 4.75 Euros. It was called Gamers Outlet, if that helps.

Just curious what you use Microshit products for. I haven't had the need for it in a decade.timmydownawell wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 1:16 pm I bought a Windows 10 key from Ebay for $3, and, surprisingly, it seems to be legit. Still working and still getting updates.

I don't and haven't used Windows for years (but thanks for judging). As I said it's on my backup laptop, which really I only put it on so I could sell it because most people would expect it. I never got around to selling it but as it turned out I recently needed it to re-activate an old Kobo e-book reader I had kicking about, so that was lucky, as it wasn't supported by Linux. Actually my printer doesn't support Linux either but I have learned to live without that.Marty wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 4:16 pmJust curious what you use Microshit products for. Re: You need to fix your Microsoft Account
I was surprised the gamble paid off. I really wasn't hopeful. Lappy has been in the wardrobe for ages since I installed it, and I just pulled it out recently and was surprised it was still legit, live and kicking, and I installed a bunch of updates and it still seemed quite happy.General Mackevili wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 1:24 pmI also bought a copy from a site that somebody posted a few months back on here for about $2 or something.
