Empty places around the world, photos

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

The road after leaving Saigon Airport on March 3. Normally jammed into extra lanes, bumper to bumper.

Only staff at bar just off Hai Ba Trung 5:30 pm. And me.

All bars here are closed. And 95% of the restaurants. And they started closing the hairdressers as well.

Guess in 2 months, I will be a long-haired, starving, teetotaler.

Ha! Yeah, on my way to Bangkok this week, I was going to stay a night and then the shutdown order came. So I bought (yet another) flight ticket on Monday and went direct to the airport. I wish I could have stayed in Vung Tau where nearly everything is normal but, well, 90-day visa was going to expire and didn't like my chances for an extension.

This is another concern. My TRC expires next week and I have no idea if it will be renewed or not.

Nothing is normal in Vung Tau... except the drunken Aussie vets.

Visa extensions are possible if you have not entered on a tourist visa (DL). The USD $10, 3-month, business (DN) visa extension has jumped from $80 to anywhere between $185 and $400 (depending on the agent). They have to replace the lost revenue from visas on arrival. Capitalism is good. :D
You could be next.
