A birth certificate is also allowed and nearly all people have one because there have been large campaigns in the past to provide everyone with one free of charge.

Street kids are probably fucked, and so are all people residing in Cambodia illegally, but that's an issue everywhere in the world. People without the legal paperwork generally won't show up at government run parties all around the world.

Come on now, how many street kids do you see in Holland, France and the UK.
It was a genuine question I posted about the kids in and around Phnom Penh, surely some organisation, or government have given them a thought. Surely if the old group of Cyclos are looked toward, the street kids would get a look in.

Maybe some NGO takes care of the shots for the street kids, I don't know. Don't forget the inoculation of kids started not that long ago. A kid I know close to Psar Chouk Meah got his first shot just last Saturday. But a lot of NGO's are low on resources now, so I really don't know. Hence the word probably. Should maybe have used 'maybe'.

All I know is many, many people have a birth certificate so the people not getting their vaccine because they're lacking paperwork will be pretty low. When I got my shots in the province I also noticed a pretty lax attitude with the people handling it all. Their goal was to give out as many shots as possible,not as little as possible.

My reaction 'issue everywhere in the world' refers to people residing illegally. They will be hard to find everywhere in the world, not just in Cambodia because they're generally scared of the authorities.

Every time alcohol ban was announced on Wed for 14 days, or 7 days last time. Today is last day of the ban, but no announcement yet....hm...

What is the point of ban anyway? Everywhere you can get a cold one, big hotels have events for 100 people already long time, Vito is open as usually. Open the damn door and let small fishes swim as well!

No news is good news. The ban expires at 00:00 today. No extension means no more ban.

Small spike in post-Pchum Ben factory worker infections is nothing to worry about, says spokesman.

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On October 13, 2021, around 70,000 workers were tested amongst 434 factories after the Pchum Ben days, and 375 workers were tested positive for Covid-19. According to Heng Sour, the spokesman for the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, the 375 patients suffered mild symptoms and have been placed and treated at an isolated shelter.
Despite the mild spike in Covid-19 cases, the spokesman assured that it was less than 1 percent and did not cause much concern to the garment sector in Cambodia compared to the closure at the beginning of the year .

COVID-19 tests conducted on the homeless of Daun Penh District

With Covid-19 prevention being a key part of the country’s plans to revive tourism and economic activities, homeless people from parts of Phnom Penh were gathered to have their samples collected.
The operation of testing the homeless in Daun Penh took place on October 13 by the order of the Governor of Daun Penh District. The district’s Unity Command forces gathered a total of 31 homeless people, including 27 adults (13 females) and 4 children. The forces gathered some of them from Koh Temple, Sorya Mall, and the night market.

During the testing one of them tested positive for Covid-19. The infected person was sent to be treated and the Department of Social Affairs in Phnom Penh.

According to an international news site, homeless people play a significant role in the spread of the pandemic. With many of the homeless being infected and spreading the virus under the radar, contact tracing and immediate action to nip the source of an infection in the bud is futile. With Phnom Penh’s significant number of homeless people, a possible Covid-19 outbreak is not a far reality.

The lack of hygiene among the homeless population the virus spreads much more easily. With many of them finding shelter in public parks and under awnings of stores, the possibility of the Covid-19 virus being left on surfaces in those location remains high.

Yeah I never know if to be relieved or annoyed that nobody keeps by the rules. Like sure its good but also super annoying when they keep extending bans even thought everyone and their mum knows nobody keeps by the rules (and it doesnt seem to have an effect the infection numbers) so just stop the nonsense

China’s Donation of 2 Million Doses of Sinovac Vaccine Arrive in Cambodia
AKP Phnom Penh, October 14, 2021 --

Two million doses of Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine, donated by the Government of the People’s Republic of China, arrived at Phnom Penh International Airport this morning.

H.E. Dr. Yuok Sambath, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Health, and her colleagues welcomed the arrival of the vaccines at the airport.

Speaking to reporters on the occasion, the secretary of state laid stress on the importance of vaccination against the pandemic, saying that among the 15 deaths yesterday, 14 were not inoculated.

With the newly arrived vaccines, Cambodia has now some 37.6 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines from purchases and donations: 7.8 million doses of Sinopharm, 27 million doses of Sinovac, 1,739,000 doses of AstraZeneca, and 1,064,600 doses of Johnson & Johnson.

H.E. Dr. Yuok Sambath reaffirmed that Cambodia has enough vaccines for the booster doses.

The Kingdom has currently been conducting four COVID-19 vaccination campaigns: for the 18 years old and up which has achieved 99.32 percent, the 12 to under 18 years old 90.07 percent, the 6 to under 12 years old 97.08 percent, and the 3rd dose or booster dose for already 1,148,427 people.

Cambodia has so far vaccinated about 84.66 percent of the total population of 16 million.
