Public and Private Sectors Encouraged to Test Staff for COVID-19 after Pchum Ben Break
AKP Phnom Penh, October 03, 2021 --
Ministries-institutions and private sector, especially factories-enterprises and businesses with a lot of staff as well as educational institutions have been encouraged to conduct rapid testing for COVID-19 among their workers-employees and staff after the Pchum Ben holiday.
The encouragement was made in a government's directive made public this afternoon, explaining that the measure was meant to prevent possible spread of COVID-19, mainly the fast-spreading Delta variant when Cambodia is moving toward the country's reopening in all domains.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Royal Government has decided to suspend the Kanben and Pchum Ben festivals to prevent the spread of COVID-19 but keeping a three-day holiday for Pchum Ben for civil servants and workers for the year 2021.
During the upcoming holidays, many people will be able to travel from one place to another to meet family and travel to resorts across the country, which will put the Kingdom of Cambodia at risk of large-scale transmission of COVID-19, especially the Delta virus, which is rapidly spreading in the community.

Re: Information on Coronavirus / COVID-19 in Cambodia (Latest Updates April 2021)
OTH, Chinese vaccines were widely available very early on because they sent out the vaccines before they vaccinated their citizens. Pfizer and Moderna were not available for any country for a few months until all US citizens who want a jab got one. They were the leader but it was more due to supply being available. This has begun to change as folks realize the Delta variant is overrunning anything they have to offer.

Cambodia considering reducing duration of quarantine for fully vaccinated investors
The Royal Government, through relevant ministries and institutions, has examined and discussed the reduction of the period of vaccination for investors who have received all doses of the vaccine.
This was announced in a video conference (Zoom), chaired by Dr. Aun Porn Moniroth, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National Commission for Combating Covid-19 disease.
The meeting had several agendas, including:
Review and discuss the report from the expert panel on the effectiveness of Covid-19 vaccine.
Review, discuss and prepare measures to be implemented before and after Pchum Ben.
Review and discuss on reducing the duration of quarantine for investors who have been fully vaccinated
Last August, the Ministry of Economy and Finance held a meeting with the private sector to deliberate issues, concerns and suggestions.
The private sector had called on the government to facilitate and relax measures and deposit payments for foreign investors who have already been vaccinated against Covid 19. The private sector believes that if the Royal Government of Cambodia approves this proposal or takes better measures, it will make investment opportunities in Cambodia better and more attractive for foreign investors.

Re: Re:Information on Coronavirus / COVID-19 in Cambodia (Latest Updates April 2021)
Just on the booster rollout above, it seems it will be another Sinovac shot if I read it correctly. They start on the 11th so will be interesting to see how they will notify people or whether it's just a case of going back to the original loaction where you got the first shots.. Also, for Daun Penh they've specified just one day, the 30th...Didn't we originally have a 1-2 weeks for the first shot? So they will be overloaded on the day for the booster?
Also, I saw on a Cambodia Expat group on FB (run by TOF) that people are currently getting an AZ booster at both the National Pedriatic and the Preah Ang Doung Hospitals. So I gather people are jumping the gun on the MOH roll out or maybe don't want another Sinovac? Those hospitals don't seem to be turning people away unless it's less than 4 months since the 2nd shot.
Seems an odd way to go about things..or is it just optional to get a booster? And, is there any evidence that an AZ booster is better than a Sinovac one? I'm
Re: Information on Coronavirus / COVID-19 in Cambodia (Latest Updates April 2021)
I see that everything that is normally proposed usually change, such has it was if you had been vaccinated with the Chinese vaccine then the booster would be of AZ. Also if you have only had one jab you will be in limbo, not being able to get a booster, nor being able to get the second shot.
No matter for now, due to soon you will have the choice of vaccines, and of course you will pay an high premium price for the service.

Parents, caretakers told to bring 6-11 age group for first Covid jab
Voun Dara | Publication date 09 October 2021 | 11:48 ICT
The Phnom Penh Municipal Administration reminds parents, caretakers and nursery centres to bring children aged 6-11 who missed the first shot of Covid-19 vaccine to go get it as soon as possible, although the first-dose vaccination campaign for this age group has ended since October 3.
In a notice dated October 8, it said the majority of children in the capital had been vaccinated, with only a small number of them left behind for various reasons including being stranded in quarantine and health-related problems, while some have just reached eligible age for vaccination.
It said children in this age group can get their first jab at eight referral hospitals across the capital from 8am to 5pm.
They include Phnom Penh Municipal Referral Hospital in Prampi Makara district; King Father-Queen Mother Referral Hospital in Russey Keo district; Cambodia-China Friendship Hospital in Sen Sok district; and Pochentong Referral Hospital in Por Sen Chey district.
The other four are district referral hospitals in Chaktomuk, Dangkor, Chbar Ampov and Prek Phnov.
The second-dose vaccination drive for this age group just kicked off on October 8 and will run through October 24 at 42 locations across the capital.
