Something a little under 350 new cases today.

From the government news, AKP: 303 new infections and five (Cambodian) deaths were recorded today, 21 April 2021. Most of the infections were detected in Phnom Penh.

COVID-19: Daily New Infections Drop; Newly Recovered Cases Increase Sharply
AKP Phnom Penh, April 21, 2021 --

Cambodia recorded 303 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), down from 431 yesterday; bringing the tally to 7,747, according to a press release of the Ministry of Health issued this afternoon.

The new infections are all linked to the Feb. 20 Community Event. Of them, 300 are Cambodians and 3 are Chinese. 248 of the new cases were detected in Phnom Penh capital, and the rest in the provinces of Preah Sihanouk, Kandal, Takeo and Kampot.

The ministry also registered a high record of recovered cases; the total number of cured patients rose to 2,794.

The 239 newly recovered cases, all connected to the Feb. 20 incident, include 233 Cambodians, 5 Chinese and 1 Vietnamese. They have been allowed to be discharged after being tested negative twice consecutively.

Besides, there were five more coronavirus-related deaths; the death toll increased to 54. The new death cases are Cambodian nationals aged from 37 to 66 years old.

Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 21 – Two Cambodian patients living in Phnom Penh died of COVID19 on 21 April 2021, according to the Ministry of Health's announcement dated Wednesday.

A 54-year-old Cambodian woman was tested positive on 12 April 2021. He passed away at 00:45 on 21 April 2021.

Another 54-year-old Cambodian woman was tested positive on 10 April 2021. She passed away at 10:00 on 21 April 2021.

"Both patients passed away due to severe lung disease and respiratory crisis attacked by COVID19," the ministry confirmed.

To date, Cambodia has registered 56 cases of COVID19 fatality.
