Saw this OTOF
I guess this is devolving into pitting us against each other and creating a snitch network.
What the fuck is going on? AndyKK can't even get to the pharmacy without being threatened with arrest. This shit better not get extended again after the 28th.

We stocked up already a few days ago and Mrs Cargo hasn't had any issues going to Kandal market.

Angkar has many eyes... This is just like the KR days when you could tell them your neighbour was a CIA agent or something. Talk about making people hate/suspicious of each other. My place had tons of people (including myself) walking and cycling around this afternoon. Now I'm going to be a bit reluctant in case someone snitches... As the only barang I kinda stand out.Brody wrote:Saw this OTOF

80% protection against what? I'm always confused when people use percentages to talk about how effective a vaccine is. As far as I know, nobody has ever claimed that any of the current vaccines will prevent you from contracting Covid. That's not their purpose. Their aim is to stop you from having such bad symptoms that you need to go to hospital or you die from it.alexvanlaar wrote: ↑Sat Apr 17, 2021 1:28 pm NOT TRUE!
The first AZ jab gives you 80% protection. Meta studies from your country, DOC. (GB) I guess.
So when people give a percentage to describe the effectiveness of a vaccine, what exactly do they mean? We know the Chinese vaccines are a little over 50% effective. But what does that mean? That 50% of people will get no benefit whatsoever from them but 50% will, albeit to varying degrees? And to what degree? What percentage of those go on to be hospitalised? What percentage die? Does a 50% efficacy rate mean that it gives you a fifty-fifty chance of survival if you catch Covid? Does a 50% rate mean that your symptoms would have been twice as bad had you not had the shot?
I'm not sure anyone knows these answers. It's another case of people throwing numbers into the wind that they've read online without giving them a second thought as to what they actually mean. I'm not saying the efficacy rates aren't legitimate, I'm just questioning whether people fully understand them in context.
The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never allow the dumb ones to lead the pack.

Our normal local tuktuks can't take us anywhere by police order. What's the procedure if you're going out to buy food to stock up?
We can't go to the supermarket- only walk to the local market.
