Woman Dies in Massive Fire in Central Market Area

Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: A fire broke out at 10:30 pm on March 6,2020, above a printing shop on 63rd Street, Sangkat Phsar Thmei 3, Daun Penh district. An old woman is reported to have died after she was trapped in the flaming building.

Many people were evacuated, as the fire spread to surrounding buildings, and there were reports of gas explosions. 25 fire trucks were called to the scene, and the blaze was finally extinguished at 01:50am on 7 March.

As of 9:00 am today, the cause of the fire had not been determined by law enforcement.

There seems to have been a shit load of residential fires the past few months.

Any frequent cause? I'd guess faulty electrical?

A variety of reasons according to reports, I just don't ever recall so many residential fires in PP over such a short period of time.

Often either that or - more likely - those gas can cookers.
