Re: Tokyo Olympics 2020
It’s an interesting table.
One minor problem with it is that each country has a limit to how many competitors that can compete in a given event (eg the US can’t send three basketball teams to win Gold Silver and Bronze), which places a hard cap on how many medals per capita large countries can mathematically achieve.
But, it is nice to shout out smaller countries punching above their weight.

Some of the sprints have 3 Jamaicans on the podium. It feels unsporting to let one country dominate an event.
Scarier than malaria.

What is the actual point of Simone Biles being at these Olympics?

She just came bottom of her group, which makes you both wrong and an asshole.tightenupvolume1 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 1:27 pm I reckon new Zealand will easily win the women's weightlifting today, i have money on it
Re: Tokyo Olympics 2020
Why does it make him/her an asshole?
Or is it some subliminal play-on-words with 'bottom (of her group)' & assholes? If so, too clever by 'alf..

None of the Olympic weightlifters, male or female, take enough "supplements", and the difference between them and the strongman crew is remarkable

Re: Tokyo Olympics 2020
What do you mean? Most of them are juicing and they're all extremely strong. Olympic weightlifting has pretty tight weight classes vs strongman, and it's all about explosiveness and technique. I don't know of any strongman that can CJ/snatch as much as Lasha (or even several weight classes down). Totally different sports.Jerry Atrick wrote:None of the Olympic weightlifters, male or female, take enough "supplements", and the difference between them and the strongman crew is remarkable

Doubt it, that was the contrast I was speaking about, versus the juiced to the gills strongman crowd
