Not even amateurs. The aviation regulator has formally notified all parties about the change to arrival rules for international travellers aged 18 and over. They will take effect for flights landing in Thailand from 1am local time on Monday and will remain in effect at least until the end of the month.
@RichardBarrow. 1h
What a rollercoaster these last two days have been. A complete nightmare for tourists and an utter shitshow by the Thai government.
It has only turned out reasonably well in the end due to the immense pressure put on them by the tourism industry and people like yourself.
go thailand
nation says today, note difference to the post above on the last few words
The Notam goes into effect at 8am on Monday and will run until midnight on January 31

And vaccines do not stop infections - so what could this possibly have ever hoped to achieve for public health?ExPenhMan wrote: ↑Sun Jan 08, 2023 7:32 pm So you think Thailand has wrecked planning/arrivals already. Sadly, all this xenophobic yo-yoing will damage quality tourist arrival numbers into Cambodia, as many longhaul arrivals come as an add-on from Thailand.

Thailand rescinds entry requirement for proof of COVID-19 vaccination: Health minister
https://www.channelnewsasia.com/asia/th ... on-3192236BANGKOK: Thailand has rescinded a policy announced at the weekend requiring visitors to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination, its health minister said on Monday (Jan 9).
The vaccination requirement was initially set to kick in on Monday and remain in effect at least until the end of January.
However, Anutin Charnvirakul told reporters proof of vaccination was not needed as there was sufficient immunisation globally, while those not vaccinated would be granted entry without restriction.
Anutin's announcement replaced the requirements announced on Saturday by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand. The rules had said that all foreign arrivals would have to prove they are vaccinated or provide a letter certifying that they have recovered from COVID-19 within six months.
The announcement by the aviation regulator came ahead of China reopening its borders on Sunday.

And this is the exact reason why I won’t be going back there any time soon.
Re: Thailand Travel Restrictions and Info
Early reports say there are dozens of people (probably hundreds) being blocked from flying into Thailand from many ports. As blogger Richard Barrow said about an hour ago:

Re: Thailand Travel Restrictions and Info
https://www.thephuketnews.com/thousands ... -86813.php“The Phuket Tourist Association has received contact and coordination from guided tour operators in many countries, in which all companies have shown are of the utmost concern regarding the changes to the entry policy,” the request noted.
Worrying reports had been received by tour and travel companies in England, Germany, France and Scandinavia as well as Russia, the letter pointed out.
In the 72 hours from Thursday, when the new measure was announced, through to Saturday, tour operators in Germany alone had suffered cancellations of thousands of room nights, the letter continued.
And add those hundreds people who were denied boarding at the airport yesterday and today. They won't be going to Thailand anytime soon.

Bumbling fools, all this confusion created for nothing.
