Philippines to reopen in February to vaccinated foreign tourists
Reuters

MANILA, Jan 28 (Reuters) - The Philippines will grant entry to visitors vaccinated against COVID-19 from Feb. 10, its government said on Friday, in an effort to boost a tourism sector decimated by the pandemic.
The archipelago nation of more than 7,000 islands had planned to reopen in December, but that was aborted over concerns about the Omicron variant.
Citizens of 150 countries that have visa-free entry to the Philippines will be allowed to enter.
"(This) will contribute significantly to job restoration, primarily in tourism-dependent communities, and in the reopening of businesses that have earlier shut down," Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat said in a statement.
Puyat also said the government will remove quarantine requirements for returning Filipinos from Feb. 1, and for foreign tourists from Feb. 10, but they must be vaccinated and test negative for COVID-19.

Re: Traveling in Times of Coronavirus
With Cambodia now welcoming fully-vaccinated visitors from any country without quarantine requirements upon arrival, and requiring only proof of a negative Covid-19 test taken 72 hrs before departure and a negative rapid test on arrival, Air Asia Malaysia celebrated yesterday’s resumption of flights between Kuala Lumpur and Phnom Penh after already restarting flights between Phnom Penh and Bangkok last December.
AirAsia will operate two return flights a week, every Wednesday and Sunday. More routes will be added and frequencies increased as travel demand grows in tandem with the reopening of more destinations in the near future, subject to approval from the authorities.

Deltracron and what we know about the new Covid-19 variant so far
The global Covid cases are on a decline as we mark two years since World Health Organisation declared a pandemic but a new threat looms large.
The health organisation has now warned against a new Covid variant that seems like a mix of the two dominant variants of concern Delta and Omicron. Now called Deltracron, the variant has recorded cases in the UK, France, Netherlands, Denmark.
Deltracron has genes of both Delta and Omicron and combines spike proteins of Omicron with “body” of the delta variant.

Andy, when the Khmer Times learns how to spell Deltacron, I might start taking them seriously.AndyKK wrote: ↑Fri Mar 25, 2022 10:45 am To continue with the title traveling -

Singapore to reopen borders to all fully vaccinated travellers on Apr 1; existing VTLs will be retired
24 Mar 2022 12:26PM (Updated: 24 Mar 2022 10:47PM)
SINGAPORE: Singapore will reopen its borders to all fully vaccinated travellers, removing all existing vaccinated travel lanes (VTL) and unilateral opening arrangements from Apr 1, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore announced on Thursday (Mar 24).
Instead, it will transition to a new simplified travel framework - the vaccinated travel framework - where countries and regions will be classified into two categories - general travel or the restricted category.
Under the framework, all fully vaccinated travellers, as well as children aged 12 and below, will be able to enter Singapore with just a pre-departure COVID-19 test from 11.59pm on Mar 31.
They will also no longer need to apply for entry approvals or take designated VTL transport to enter Singapore quarantine-free. In addition, there will be no more quotas on the number of daily arrivals.
While they will continue to be subjected to a pre-departure test within two days before departure for Singapore, they will not be required to serve a stay-home notice or undergo an unsupervised antigen rapid test (ART) after arriving in Singapore.
