We were visiting a Khmer family a while back and Yeay (who is mostly toothless) pulled out a container of nuts/seeds/I-dunno, pounded them into a paste, rolled them in a fresh green leaf of some sort, mangled all of that in a pestle, and was happily sucking the juice out of it. The concoction was pink from memory, and the family hinted at it being a drug of some sort. Anybody?

I had some recently in Jakarta. It was awful. Tasted like shit. Had the same effect. Why bother with it in Cambodia when you have so many other, much better , choices ? Just saying, that's all..........
