Or Wednesday night at Oskar on Riverside and 110. Ladies night with 2 for 1 cocktails for the girls.

Getting them pissed in a nice environment pays dividends.
Jesus, it's a first date, why waste money?

There are now literally hundreds of cafes around, so I don't think you could go wrong. Any of the Browns are decent and liked by Khmers and all over the city. For a more western setting, Lot 369 or Feel Good Cafe are decent, but you seriously can't go wrong with any coffee shop you see around that has halfway decent decor. You're just trying to get to know each other after-all. I say any Bown would make her feel comfortable and at ease because of the familiar chain-like setting.

I’m a fan of Touk on riverside directly across from FCC. Upstairs so you avoid the street annoyances and noise, nice view and conducive to having a conversation as it’s not overcrowded usually. I’m partial as I met my wife there.

Metro is nice.

I’ve had titanic recommended but never actually went inside.

Lê moon rooftop is nice, can get crowded sometimes.

Armands for steak, I’ve been there a few times. I sometimes avoid the steakhouse as it can be so filling but if that’s what you seek this has the ambiance I’d recommend.

Sorry, but a country that seems to have some very nice coffee, a good date is to go to a coffee chain that has some expensive average to mediocre offerings?
Is this a first date idea to ensure there’s no second date?
My assumption was that it's a date with a local. That you aren't impressed with Starbucks is neither surprising nor relevant.

surely cafes are for business 'dates'

or tinder or badoo matches

i note there are many attractive young women loitering alone at some cafes
i assume this is the reason, and not a caffeine addiction

.

You might say "packed to the gills with tasty totty", especially those close to the universities.

I was enjoying a morning coffee with my buddy, when bang the 'college' three doors down emptied for break and we were surrounded by 30+ brainy types with designer specs.

Not a guy in sight.

Certainly brightened the day somewhat.

Seconded on Touk and Le Moon. Both good spots with great views of the river. :thumb:
