Starting in early November, foreign nationals will be allowed to fly into the U.S. if they are fully vaccinated and able to show proof of vaccination prior to boarding a U.S.-bound flight, White House Covid coordinator Jeffrey Zients said.

If you want to avoid the hassle of getting vaccinated and registering with the new system you could just arrive illegally.

By the way, Astra Zeneca has not yet obtained FDA approval in the US. Therefore, it is not guaranteed that the US authorities will include it in the list of acceptable vaccines before it does obtain approval.

You can be sure that SinoVac and SinoPharm will not make the list!

[White House Covid Coordinator} Zients didn't detail what vaccines will qualify and what would constitute as fully vaccinated

If I was in the UK I wouldn't be buying my ticket to Florida for Christmas just yet.

HOW DOES THIS AFFECT AMERICANS?

Fully vaccinated Americans will only need to show proof of a negative Covid-19 test taken within 72 hours of departure to the US.

WHAT ABOUT UNVACCINATED AMERICANS?

US citizens and permanent residents who are not fully vaccinated will still be able to fly to the US, but they will see tougher testing and contact tracing protocols. They will need to be tested within 24 hours of boarding a flight to the US, as well as undergo testing upon return to the country. It remains to be seen, though, how the federal government will enforce the testing requirement upon return.

Doc ; get ur facts before u post

The CDC says the US will accept full vaccination of travellers with any Covid-19 vaccine approved for emergency use by the World Health Organization, including those from Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson used in the US. Other vaccines are also approved by the WHO and used widely around the world, including from AstraZeneca and China's Sinovac,

He was talking about tourists in general, not about US citizens specifically. Maybe lower your Ivermectin dosage a bit, old fart.

AZ in NOT approved in the US .... FACT

"it is not guaranteed that the US authorities will include it in the list of acceptable vaccines before it does obtain approval"...FACT. (They probably will, but is is not guaranteed).

The CDC says the US will accept full vaccination of travellers with any Covid-19 vaccine approved for emergency use by the World Health Organization.... OPINION...not a FACT. It's not up to them. (The may well be right, time will tell).

"You can be sure that SinoVac and SinoPharm will not make the list!"
Speculative Opinion...not a FACT... and no right minded person would take it as a fact.

What fact did I state that is false?

You may be right but why be abusive? It ruins your point. I guess you're too young to know that.

Interesting that the UK has been seeing a flat or slight decrease in infections, deaths and hospitalisation since “Freedom Day”, with a slight wave in Scotland which, they say, is due to them dragging their heels on the vaccines.

I read that flu cases have dropped to almost nothing worldwide. Flu is spread the same way as COVID but isn’t as infectious so maybe lockdowns, social distancing and hygiene measures have caused that.
People of the world, spice up your life.

Interesting that you mention Scotland coz the other day I was looking for total deaths over the last 10 years. From a @timmydownawell post. The idea was to see any uptick since covid emerged without getting into the problematic issue of defining what is a covid death.

Anyway, I didn't spend much time on it and initially looked for US and UK stats which I could find to 2018 or 2019 but not 2020. So I stumbled on Scotland that had the number of deaths from 1855 to 2020 (full year) https://www.nrscotland.gov.uk/statistic ... statistics

Year/Total deaths/Average deaths/Excess/% excess

Image

NB Excess deaths are calculated by subtracting the average for the previous 5 years from the annual figure.

So there was an uptick of approx. 6000 deaths in 2020 or +11% over the average of previous 5 years. If it's true that flu cases have dropped to almost nothing worldwide then, I'd say it's been replaced by covid deaths.

Dr John Campbell reports on the phenomenal success of India in reducing the severity of its Covid outbreak. They achieved this largely without the help of vaccination. Not because they don't believe in it, they just didn't have the ability to do it due to the vast population numbers. So, instead they managed it by various means including handing out medical kits. The resuts in Uttar Pradesh (population 204 million) were so impressive, the WHO reported in a complimentary way.
https://www.who.int/india/news/feature- ... p-covid-19

Unfortuntely space prevented the WHO from detailing what was in thise kits. The answer, in case you're interested, is:
Ivermectin, Doxycycline, Vitamin D, Vitamin C, Vitamin B, Zinc, Paracetamol, Thermometer, Pulse oximeter (total cost $2.65 per kit).
