Ukranian Plane crash - Shot down by Iran?

Post by Doc67 »

The Ukrainian passenger airline that crashed shortly after leaving Tehran was in the news lately. The plot now thickens.

It is now being widely claimed that the plane was shot down by Iranian air defence systems. Iran denies this of course.

I am not sure what to make of this but if a scheduled flight of a passenger aircraft taking off from Tehran airport on an air traffic controlled flight path can get shot down 'accidentally', does anyone want to allow this bunch of religious fanatics to have nuclear capability.

Ukraine is no friend of Russia. Russia is a good friend of Iran, so no tears on that front.

The death toll.... 63 Canadians, 82 Iranians, 11 Ukrainians (9 crew) 11, 10 Afghans, 10 Swedes and 4 Germans, 3 Brits and NO Americans.
Could they be trying to drive a wedge between the Canada/Europe and President Trump?

Oh then, why not post about Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, flying over Ukraine in 2014 and shot down by who? Not the US.

Rouhani tweeted about that Iran Air flight on January 6th, two days before the Ukrainian plane was downed.

When the US makes a mistake, it will admit that it made a mistake. It will then allow the press all the details of the mistake so the US bashers will get their fill of yet again bashing the US. Then, the US will analyze the mistake and puts steps in place to make sure it doesn’t happen again. That’s what a real democracy is.

If any other country makes a mistake, it becomes a state secret. No one learns of the mistake, and nothing gets fixed.

There isn’t enough information at this point to determine what exactly happened.

RIP to all those who died and to the grieving families.

It’s important to remember that countries are not homogenous. It is unfair to hold act as if every US citizen is responsible for every historical and current decision made by a current or past US administration. There is internal conflict within the country all the time. Debates happen and argumentation goes back and forth. American citizens in particular are verbally abused and people act as if they themselves were responsible for terrible things. In reality, if you ask people if they want bad things to happen, they will say no. Let’s not pretend that the American population as a whole is responsible for decisions made by a very few based on intelligence they never had access to. Criticize policy all you want, but let it stop there.
