A Very Sad Expat Story in Kampot - BUT with Happy Ending

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Oh, Chara. I know you read this now and that is great.

You publicly post and shame anyone you dont like on your facebook page and in groups online but now somehow you dont like it when its about you? That is unfortunate but dont look for sympathy.

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

New Zealand police have informed the Australian Federal Police that the members of the Head Hunters Motorcycle Club, which is involved in many drug cases and illegal crimes, are present in Cambodia.
Yes, they should sue the New Zealand police for defaming their exemplary characters.
Concept of thoughts and prayers.

Usually law enforcement don't warn about potentially dangerous people if they have clean criminal records and go to church every Sunday.

Bit different to a random Facebook post.

It is sad that a man who is getting past the age to bounce back from a lost business venture has been taken in.However foreigners can not own land but before I paid for land in any situation I would send the deed to the land department to verify if the title is real.I have a Cambodian wife and have gone through the same situation buying land in Cambodia.I bought several small bits of land that ended up being owned by the government. However I expected it as the price seemed too reasonable.I have Khmer friends who are high ranking police officers that were taken in as well So I guess it was just part of learning the ropes in Cambodia back in those days.Actually the government simply claimed the land and those of us who thought that we had bought cheap land simply learned that we were not the only people who saw commercial potential in that property. The land ended up with a casino on it owned by Chinese.
