A Very Sad Expat Story in Kampot - BUT with Happy Ending

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

His name is Jon Iverson and he posts all kinds of lovey dovey messages about her.

Meanwhile, Joe Boyd, who accused Chara of stealing his land/family inheritance, is circulating a newly released undated video to the press and FB groups showing Kampot Chara standing in a garden shouting and throwing bricks at him and swinging a stick.

(I can't seem to link the video?) It's here, the video on the left, you can click on "about two weeks ago" on the RONE TV NEWS link to get the audio:

Also, a woman named Chavy Lern is also accusing Chara of some kind of land scamming. Iverson is defending Chara, claiming that Chara simply promised land to Chavy Lern if Chavy Lern got Chara to America, but that Chavy Lern did nothing to earn that land, because he was going to marry Chara anyway and Chavy Lern's phone call to him to convince him to marry Chara did not sway him.

According to Kampot Chara Iverson's FB page, she is currently awaiting her visa to the USA and her husband has bought her a liquor store in Mississippi.

Chara is also posting about recently selling land, which may be why Joe Boyd and Chavy Lern are so agitated this week.

Hope it all works out for that Jon Iverson. His wife in the USA passed away in 2019 and he lost a daughter at birth in 2007 as well.

Lots of red flags with this lady though. Unfortunately, he has had plenty of heartbreak and may be headed for some more.

Jon Iverson seems to be from the Seattle area. Why would he get involved in anything in Mississippi?

Kampot Chara has now responded to Joe Boyd's posts claiming she's a scammer, by posting on Black List Cambodia that Joe Boyd is the scammer by investing $25,000 in her business and then living rent free with her and destroying her house.

The strangest thing about that deal is that the liquor store he's buying for her in Moss Point, Mississippi looks like it's already staffed by Cambodians. And it even has one of those waving cats on the counter.

I gotta say i am very disappointed. Nothing like as exciting as i always imagined the Mississippi liquor store scene to be.

Pathetic. Can't you Yanks drink?
ffs, my local corner store where i buy my cornflakes sells more booze than all of that from under the counter on a Sunday morning.
