Cambodia News (Banteay Meanchey): On December 01, 2019, a group of 4 Indian tourists were injured on an Overlander tour in South East Asia when their vehicle, from Mahanth Motor Company, was involved in a traffic accident on national road 6, Preah Nethpreah district, Banteay Meanchey.

Lieutenant Meas Rethy, Preah Nethpreah inspector, reported that the victims, all Indian nationals, were identified as BHAGWAT RAJARAMKUMTA GANESH, a 53-year-old man, PHATANJALI UMAMAHESHWAR, a 26-year-old woman, BAPAT SHYAM PRASAD, a 26-year-old man, and PRASHANTHA KAMALESHWARA, a 43-year-old man.

Before the accident, a 28-year-old man, SOPPINAKOUSHIKKEDALASARA, the driver, had driven the vehicle with the 4 passengers from Thailand to Cambodia through the Poipet border. After the border crossing, the driver swerved to avoid another car and left the road. The vehicle overturned, seriously injuring the passengers. The victims all were sent to Royal Angkor Hospital in Siem Reap.

The car was taken to the police station, waiting to sort out the legal questions later.
