Cambodia Breaking News (Sihanoukville): On October 2, 2019, a 30-year-old man, Chi Mao, a drug addict, was arrested for threatening Pol Ngorn, a 39-year-old man, with a loaded gun in Ohtapang village, Pre Nup district, Sihanoukville.

The police confiscated a K59 pistol, a magazine, ten bullets, a packet of drugs, and a packet of cigarettes. The police are preparing the case of suspect with the evidence following the procedure.

According to the studies, the guns are coming from basically everywhere. India, Sri Lanka, North Korea, Burma, and even HK and Japan. The two main sources are thought to be Burma and China, where there are the most production facilities, and in the case of Burma a strong import connection to NK. A 2006 study below showed that there were still up to as many as 85,000 small arms leftovers in illegal circulation within Cambodia, as well.
