Overstay issues

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Back to the topic and the OP

I posted it but it got lost or deleted.

I met JD

He is not how he was before.

He is on the right path.

Recovering, Psychic Scars, Self Confidence a bit battered.

His "new" bike is a rental from the Japanese he works for.

He is not 'flashing the cash' as he has a small salary and looks after it.

Give the guy time and he will be back to his former self.

Those of us on here that have been down that dark road will recognize the signs

Good luck to the man.

What is he planning to do about the $10/day overstay fine that is currently totaling over $7,000 USD?

JUDGEDREDD wrote: Wed Sep 25, 2019 4:08 am Mishmash, I'm gonna try and get out Cambodia next year, if you've got work going I'd love to get a job doing sales out there. I've got 14 years behind me from selling double glazing to financial services etc.
Sure .. You can sell anything if you are familiar with the product and it fits the market. Construction is booming, so no worries.

At first I had to do a lot of cold-calling.

Basically I see construction work (which right now is all over almost every street in PP and SHK and Bavet and Poipet) I walk in the gates and ask to see the Project Manager for five minutes. Give my card, explain my product and services and ask for a chance.

Nowadays people call me.

However there are 1000's of projects - I cannot possibly visit them all.

Power cables are needed every project.

The prices are extremely competitive. I can beat Keystone, sigma, wilson, sincas, yazaki, furukawa and still provide the same or better quality.

I can give you catalogs, sample boards, direct factory contact to send your pricing request.

The quote you receive depends the volume of order, what cables exactly and the current price of copper on the London Metal Exchange.

When the PO is received and the customer pays for the order you invoice your Commission

I have a range of products available.

Keep his head down, stay low, work and save.

As he recovers his former faculties he will think of ways to expand his horizons and income.

Sink or swim comes to mind.

So, if i get it right after 32 pages,

Either JD1965 and Mishmash are the same guy, and we have an elaborated free advertisement both for the guy and the cables, on a psychodrama background,

Or JD1965 is on the right path to work hard and save some $ for the overstay bill to clear, but the ban of KOW will still be on afterwards, and who knows what can happen beetween now and then.

Did i miss something ?

How many times in real life do you see such a heartwarming Lucky End to a dire situation? Doesn't it bring tears to your eyes? Doesn't it feel and look and sound like "And they all lived happily ever after" like in a fairy tale? Oh... wait... it IS a fairy tale!

I don't think @jd1965 and @Mishmash are the same persons. However, as I've said many times before in this thread: I have the feeling I'm looking at some weird and badly scripted play. The only problem is: who is playing exactly what role and why?
