E-Visa in Bangkok impossible

Post by doctor1 »

just tried to get an ordinary Visa in Bangkok.
Clerk said not possible anymore... asked for a pile of papers such as employment letter etc.
Is that only in Bangkok? I‘ve read should be piece of cake to get one at the airport.

Thanks for the reply

Africans and Indians find them difficult to get outside their home countries.
What is your nationality?

Work documents are not required by immigration normally.

Wow, that's a new one. I wonder if that is happening on arrival now too.

Been happening for a couple years at least now, the Embassies/Consulates are being very strict when applying for the E-type Visa in advance, you are required to provide all sorts of supporting documentation (see below) to justify your application. No problem obtaining the E-type VOA though, depending on your Nationality of course.

Required supporting documentation for E-type Visa in advance from Cambodian Embassy/Consulate;

1. Invitation letter from Cambodian registered employer (Original),
2. Employment Contract (Original),
3. Company Registration (issued by Ministry of Commerce & certified true copy by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs),
4. VAT License (issued by Ministry of Economy & Finance, certified true copy by the MoFAIC),
5. Tax Patent (Issued by Ministry of Ecnomy, certified by MoFAIC)
6. Company Profile,
7. Visa application Form, 1x passport pic.

Just curious, as i will get mine on arrival
BUT if ur over 55, cant you just apply for the E-visa and tell them u will be extending to an ER?

What about if ur going to look for work and will be requesting a EG extension later?
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

C'mon Richard, you of all people should know not to ask logical questions...we all know how competent Cambodian Embassy staff are(n't).

I would recommend not saying that the purpose of stay is tourism if you are looking to get an E-visa.

Hassle-free, Taxi or TukTuk from the designated kiosk. Cheapest would be a Grab/Passapp
