Beware the $3 Massage Parlors

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

New signs on the ones in 172. Now have Chinese writing at top.

I have heard so this is only a unsubstantiated account, that they are run by a senior cop who takes a percentage and offers protection. Sometimes see girls/women who were working in 172 then down on 136.

It will be interesting if they try this scam on the Chinese and what reaction they get.

Any $3 massage joint that doesn't clean up the cigarette butts off their entry way is not worth the price of admission imo =@
Spoiler:
else annoy the hell out of them and put $3 plus several $100 notes marked ''copy'' (aka ghost money) in your wallet

If there's a reason for placing 6 lollies on the footpath, there must be a reason for placing that one cigie butt there also.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Shop owners often throw sweets/candies/lollies(?) out the front for good luck. They always seem to use the same brand.

I have an acquaintance that just returned from Laos and has told a friend ( in confidence) that he went to a massage parlour received extras and the shop was promptly raided by the police. He was arrested, told he would be jailed and paid $2500 to leave the station and be escorted to the border. An obvious setup if true, the guy is a dirty bird Norwegian biker wannabe. I can hardly wait to run into him and tell him the same story before he tells me, only that my brother was set up at a massage parlour in Savannakhet, Laos and paid $100 and was allowed to stay in the country. haha

Beware $3 massage?
Classic.
I do appreciate the free lessons on what to avoid.
I prefer actual massages by pros.
The substitution racket is a new one to me.
Thanks.

Cambodia Breaking News (Phnom Penh): On September 13, 2019, at 1:30 pm, Psar Kandal police, in collaboration with the police of justice department, arrested two massage ladies for stealing money from their customer at Khmer Massage shop on September 10, 2019, on street 154, Sangkat Psar Kandal, Khan Don Penh, Phnom Penh.

The suspects were identified as massage ladies, Heng Sokleng, 44-years-old, and Noeun Sreyleang, 22-years-old. The victim was identified as TAMEEM MOHAMMAD AZEEM, a 23-year-old man from Afghanistan staying at LongIn hotel.

On September 10, at 3:30 pm, the victim went to the massage shop, and while he was getting the message, the other woman stole US$600 of his money from his wallet and exchanged it with fake money. The Afghan man didn't suspect anything, and after the massage, he paid the suspects $3 and left the shop.
It was not until September 12 that the victim realized that his money had been stolen by the massage women and replaced by fake dollars, so then he went to file a complaint at the police station.

After receiving the complaint, the police went to the massage shop and arrested the suspects on September 13, at 1:30 pm. The suspects were sent to the police station for questioning and case preparation.
