That's true, the only way to be 100% safe to your self and others is to practice 100% celibacy.Kammekor wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2019 5:45 pmIn case of the clap a condom doesn't provide full protection. The tests can, for example, be done at Pasteur (likely the priciest), Paramed and RHAC, an NGO clinic system that specializes in reproductive health.
RHAC is also good for the lady should anything turn up in your tests and advises on the treatment. They have several branches in PP and the provinces.
Google Maps search should show all the mentioned places.

I think you could be right, but let's not come to any premature conclusions just yet.

I would only recommend RHAC pricewise, unless they have seriously upgraded lately... for instance the HIV test they use is just 3rd generation, no test for Gonorrhea available, no swab tests available just blood tests.yongchi wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 3:30 am The tests can, for example, be done at Pasteur (likely the priciest), Paramed and RHAC, an NGO clinic system that specializes in reproductive health.

Thanks for the update. They used to do swab tests for Gonorrhea, at least in PP.Kammekor wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 5:07 pmI would only recommend RHAC pricewise, unless they have seriously upgraded lately... for instance the HIV test they use is just 3rd generation, no test for Gonorrhea available, no swab tests available just blood tests.yongchi wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 3:30 am The tests can, for example, be done at Pasteur (likely the priciest), Paramed and RHAC, an NGO clinic system that specializes in reproductive health.

So if they are not doing them anymore they have actually downgraded.
Can you elaborate on 3rd generation HIV tests? How can a patient identify which generation a place does? What should ppl get?
Which place would you recommend for tests and advice/treatment?
Thanks for taking the time.

Any HIV test is fine by itself, and gives reliable results from three months after exposure.yongchi wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 8:49 pmThanks for the update. Newer generations can provide more reliable results sooner (shorter window period) after exposure, so if you don't want to wait too long to rule out HIV you might want to use the newest one (current: 4th generation). Paramed definitely offers a 4th generation test, RHAC couldn't tell me which one when i asked, but they used 3rd generation (at least when I used their service). The abbreviation used on the form identifies the test used, so check the form or ask for it and Google is your friend.
