Far out!! A herd of 80 large chestnut coloured ungulates only just now discovered in Kampong Speu.
We still have some fantastic wild animals running around the bush here.
More species and more individual animals than most people realise.
Don't give up, boys and girls!

That's all very good and well, but I'm sure some will be eaten by the tigers.

Leopards eat them, but only in Cambodia.Username Taken wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2019 4:09 pm That's all very good and well, but I'm sure some will be eaten by the tigers.
"Eastern Cambodia’s leopards are also part of the only leopard population in the world to prey predominantly on an animal weighing more than 500 kilograms — the banteng."

A herd of Banteng have been spotted by WWF’s biodiversity researchers in late of April, said WWF-Cambodia in a press release this evening.
The researchers found the animals while they were monitoring and collecting data to support their wildlife surveys in the WWF’s supported Phnom Prich Wildlife Sanctuary, a protected area under the management of the Mondulkiri Provincial Department of Environment of the Ministry of Environment, it added.
WWF’s scientists described there were at least 7 individuals captured in the video clip, including one juvenile and a majestic bull Banteng, and that the herd was moving fast after they were startled by other animals or potentially by the researchers group, the same source continued.
Considered to be one of the most beautiful and graceful of all wild cattle species, the Banteng (Bos javanicus) - listed by IUCN as globally endangered - is most likely the ancestor of Southeast Asia’s domestic cattle.
