5 Kampot Gambling "Addicts" Sent to Court
Cambodia News, (Kampot): The Angkor Chey District Gendarmerie in Kampot province cracked down on illegal gambling, and disobeying government regulations as well as the Ministry of Health's instructions, at the house of Ouk Yeun, a 60-year-old female in Russey Dom village, Angkor Chey, Kampot province on April 19, 2021.

Detained 5 suspects as follows:
1-Name: Ouk Yeun, Female, 60 years old, Occupation: Farmer (Owner)
2-Name: Ouk Nhanh, Female, 59 years old, Occupation: Farmer
3-Name: Pich Khon, Female, 42 years old, Occupation: Farmer
4-Name: Ouk Yat, Female, 47 years old, Occupation: Farmer
5-Name is Lim Loeun, Male, 38 years old, Occupation is Farmer.

The suspects have been sent to the Department of Crime Investigation and Suppression to build a case according to the procedure.

Battambang Gamblers Busted Playing Dice

Cambodia News, (Battambang): On April 25, 2021, HE Nguon Rattan, Governor of Battambang, gave orders to crack down on village people gathering to play cards or any kind of gambling. Eight men and women were arrested for playing dice games in Samlot district.

Police are making headway as more people are arrested every day for gambling.

Six Gamblers Arrested in Pursat

Cambodia News, (Pursat): According to the page of the Office of Social Media, on April 25, 2021, at 5:15pm, the intervention force of Kandieng District Police Inspectorate cracked down on illegal gambling (cards and sponges) at Phteah Sre village, Svay Luong commune, Kandieng district.

Four women and two men were detained by the police; all are local villagers, aged between 32 and 67, living in Phteah Sre village, Pursat.

Cambodia News (Battambang): The specialist police collaborated with Bovel district police in a crack down on gambling, and arrested 6 suspects on May 4, 2021, at 4 pm, in Bovel district, Battambang.
The suspects were identified as Peus Sienghun, a 51-year-old woman, Noch Noun, a 56-year-old woman, Khorn Chanthy, a 27-year-old woman, Som Chany, 35 years old, Yes Vorn, 36 years old woman, and Yem Saochorn, a 59-year-old man.

After questioning by the police, the suspects put their thumb-prints on an agreement to stop playing cards.

Crack Down On Pursat High Rollers

Cambodia News, (Pursat): According to the Ministry of Interior's Education Promotion Page, on May 4, 2021, at 4:25 pm, the Boeung Bot Kandol police cracked down on a case of village gambling, which occurred under the house of One Oukphet, a 27-year-old woman living in Russey Taman village, Boeung Bot Kandol commune, Bakan district, Pursat province.

According to the Boeung Bat Kandol Administrative Police Chief, the police arrested 9 gambling addicts: 3 men and 6 women.
1. Name: Van Ouk, Female, 27 years old
2. Name: Sieng Nak, Male, 54 years old
3-Name is Heng Horn, Male, 59 years old.
4-Name: Cam Mon, Female, 30 years old
5-Name is Keut Kim, Female, 56 years old
6-Name is Ol Pov, Female, 57 years old
7-Name: Miech Dy, Female, 58 years old
8-Name is Sieng Rith, Female, 47 years old
9 -Name: Camny, Male, 54 years old.
All nine of them live in Russey Taman village, Boeung Bot Kandol commune, Bakan district, Pursat province.

The exhibits consisted of 2 packs of cards, 2 mats and 1 pair of shoes, the post chief said, adding that all nine gamblers were taken to the police station to be educated before being sent home.

Kampong Speu Gamblers Released on Bail

Cambodia News, (Kampong Speu province):It appears that a mastermind behind the gambling rings in Kampong Speu secured the release of 8 players who gathered during the Covid-19 lockdown, breaking the Royal Government ban.
According to a provincial court official, a man named Ouk Sophat got the gamblers released on bail. The source says that Ouk Sophat has friends in high places, and that the agreement to free the gamblers was based on under the counter transactions.

This is related to a case of a crack down on illegal gambling and violating the ban on health measures which occurred in a mango plantation west of Santepheap village, Tang commune Kroch, Samrong Tong district, Kampong Speu province, on April 29, 2021.
At 1:45 pm on the same day, the Samrong Tong District Police Inspectorate searched and cracked down on the group who were playing the gambling game of "apong".
