If she had earned that money herself, at serving beer for $2 each day, she would have never lost that money to begin with.Foreigner wrote:That said, apparently a girl who used to work on 51 street lost $200,000 of her husband's money playing cards in Australia a few years back.
Hope she was finally scared into being a good wife after that.

He booted her out and she came back to Cambodia and spent 6 months crying over not being able to see her kids, according to our mutual friend at the time. Last I saw on facebook she and another lady from the area appeared to have fallen in love or something.
She was (probably) responsible for me and my friend finishing our friendship (her dumping me) anyway, so I'm probably not the most objective person to comment on her in all honesty..

Re: The Crackdown Continues on Cambodian People Playing Cards
Is this really the biggest problem in Cambodia today?
(That said, I dig the Pajamas All Day look of these ladies.)

Re: The Crackdown Continues on Cambodian People Playing Cards
Is it just playing cards that's illegal or are all forms of gambling outlawed (outside of a casino of course). I see people playing numbers, selling scratchers, and the big bad 50 cent card games all the time way out in the open like it's nothing. Must be some mix of angry old lady who got kicked out of the bridge club and a cop who's bored and wants their face in the paper

Any type of gambling is illegal for all Cambodian citizens. Officially. And Cambodians are not allowed to gamble in casinos. Re: The Crackdown Continues on Cambodian People Playing Cards
So you're telling me it's legal for casinos to operate in Cambodia, legal for Cambodians to work in said casinos, but it's illegal for them to be gamble in those very same casinos that's nuts. But hey, not my country not my rules. I guess it doesn't have to make sense to meAnchor Moy wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2020 1:31 pmAny type of gambling is illegal for all Cambodian citizens. Officially.
