Brit killed by Norwegian in pattaya
Brit killed by Norwegian in pattaya
A lie can get round the world faster than the truth can get its boots on.
Re: Brit killed by Norwegian in pattaya
If you read the story, he was stabbed first. He then choked the person who stabbed him.
If somebody stabbed me, I might react in a fairly severe manner.
He was drunk.

He was drunk.

update to story
https://www.thephuketnews.com/karon-pol ... rSzOsVO.97UPDATE: Karon Chief Police Col Prawit Sutthirueangarun and Maj Techin Deethongon of the Karon Police, who responded to the incident, have since given a much more comprehensive explanation of the sequence of events that occured, including Norwegian tourist Roger Bullman admitting that he broke into Mr Bajaj's room by breaking through the balcony door and admitting that he held Mr Bajaj in a choke hold.
Mr Bullman has now been charged with manslaughter and trespass by using violence.

Centara Grand is a reasonably upmarket hotel chain in Thailand, obviously the victim was on a family holiday. The sensible thing would have been to call down to reception and get the paid security to come up and ask his neighbour to keep the noise down in consideration of other guests. That's what you expect and pay for in a decent hotel, if they don't comply make it the hotel's problem not yours..
Total tragedy for the family over a bully boy aggressive drunk, unfortunately it's Phuket and I have a feeling reading the report that the usual corruption in that place will prevail. No CCTV of the relevant area, not sure if he's been detained or is out on bail lol. Bail when somebody has been killed? I'm sure families will be queueing up to book that hotel for high season.

British national Amitpal Singh Bajaj, 34, came to Phuket on holiday with his wife, who is a Singaporean national, and their one-year-and-eight-month-old baby boy, also a Singaporean national, he added.
Mr Bullman and his wife were staying in the room next to the Bajaj family.
“Mr Bullman was drunk and causing so much noise that hotel security came to warn Mr Bullman twice,” Maj Ekkachai said.
At about 4am, Mr Bajaj confronted Mr Bullman over the noise, and a fight ensued.
“Mr Bajaj carried a steak knife into Mr Bullman’s room. They started fighting and Mr Bajaj stabbed Mr Bullman in left shoulder,” he explained.
“Then Mr Bullman had Mr Bajaj in a choke hold, and continued to choke him,” he added.

This part has now been changed. As Bullman went into Bajaj’s room (and has been charged with trespassing and manslaughter) it never made sensephuketrichard wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2019 7:56 am “Mr Bajaj carried a steak knife into Mr Bullman’s room. Norwegian Out on Bail After Killing Brit Tourist at Phuket Hotel
August 25, 2019 10:50 am
PHUKET — Police said Sunday a Norwegian tourist stands accused of killing a British man at a luxury hotel in Phuket province last week over a noise row gone violent.
Roger Bullman was charged with fatal physical assault for the death of 34-year-old Amitpal Singh Bajaj at Centara Grand Hotel in the early morning of Aug. 21, according to a local police chief. Bullman is currently out on bail and appears to pose no flight risk, the officer said.
“The court believed he had no intent to flee,” Karon Police Station Chief Prawit Sutthirueangarun said in an interview. “We have also notified the Immigration Bureau … we can summon him any time for questioning.”
Citing evidence at the crime scene, Col. Prawit said Bullman, 52, kicked down a connecting door into Bajaj’s hotel room after the British man’s complaint of loud noises escalated into a heated argument.

Ummm... the victim did call the hotel staff. The hotel sent security twice to tell the bully to keep decrease the noise levels. In response the bully increased the noise level each time.Cowshed Cowboy wrote:Centara Grand is a reasonably upmarket hotel chain in Thailand, obviously the victim was on a family holiday. The hotel completely failed in its duty on many levels.
When the poor guy attempted to peacefully resolve things himself, the bully broke down the door, entered his room and killed him in an act of ‘self defense’. The Norwegian has been determined not to be a flight risk and bailed out of jail, now freely roaming around.
Unlikely in American movie fables, confronting real bullies sometimes results in death. Drunken animals do not believe in peaceful coexistence.

‘Crazed’ martial artist who choked Brit dad to death in Thai hotel ‘goes on the run’
A MARTIAL artist who killed a British father is believed to be on the run today as Thai police issued a warrant for his arrest, it has been reported.
Roger Bullman, 54, from Oslo, Norway, failed to show up to court in Phuket, Thailand, after killing Amitpal Singh Bajaj, 34, from Southall, West London.
The martial artist was reportedly relaxing at a swimming pool at the Ikon Hotel near Karon Beach around the time he was scheduled to appear at court.
His lawyer Pawitra Laohaviroj told the Mail that he did not attend court because he felt “unsafe” and wanted a Norwegian lawyer to represent him.
Ms Laohaviroj requested for her client to be allowed on bail until September 8 – but that request was rejected and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Staff at the Ikon Hotel said his room was empty and he had fled suddenly and without notice today, it has been reported.
