What about Full Metal Jacket?

My enthusiasm for that scene turns off some.

in fact there's a short documentary on just this scene:

Those are great videos. I loved that Hearts of Darkness documentary but these have great detail. Like who knew the Spook was actually the First Assistant Director?

I think I like Platoon slightly over Apocalypse Now.

Couple other good war movies - "Come and See" and "The Human Condition", the latter Kubrick lifted the bootcamp scene for Full Metal Jacket.

I only learned today, quite by chance, that Laurence Fishburne was in Apocalypse Now and was only 14 years old at the time.
Despite what angsta states, it’s clear from reading through his posts that angsta supports the free FreePalestine movement.

That's a fantastic movie, I have it on a drive somewhere but it's a bit hard to re-watch, seriously grim. :(

I heard an interview with him about being young and watching rich adults freak out. Dennis Hopper was high all the time, etc.
