When cars are too expensive

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

When cars are too expensive, make your own.

You could probably make something a bit better than this, but here is one for ideas.

It's ingenious, but that engine(?) might make the front passenger's ride slightly uncomfortable. Where is the picture from? Africa?

I have also seen another one but did not have my phone with me at the time.

Then there are 3 wheeled home made vehicles.

They ARE extreme vespas from Java.
Yeah, big gatherings here and there. Freewheelers. Lots of fun and smoke and punks.

If you want to be environmentally friendly and not use fuel at all.

I have thought about making something like this, but I probably never will. You could make it pedal with electric assist, and the roof could be solar panels.

You could even make it with a back seat, and a space for luggage, and call it an environmentally friendly alternative to a tuk tuk.
