Malaysia to impose departure tax from Sept 1.

Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

Some years ago, I was based in KL, and operating out of KL airport was a dream, compared to the intense nightmare that JFK and Heathrow could be.

Taking a short break way using Air Asia, in the old cattle shed terminal was easy, if not glamorous.
Now, the whole thing has changed. When it takes as long to get out of the terminal as it took to fly there, it’s failed. When you find yourself corralled with a bunch of braying passengers with no concept of waiting their turn to get through passport control gates of which there are now too few manned (and to be pc, womanned), they’ve lost the plot. Shame, really.

Took a flight from KLIA2 to Penang recently - huge queues at checkin and got redirected to the wrong queue twice and finally reached the bag drop to be told we were 10 mins late to checkin. Explaining that it was Air Asia's fault for not enough staff plus no announcement for the flight to go to the special counter ended up costing me $100 and 4 hours wait.

Flying back we docked at the furthest gate on one wing and the gate to Snooky was, surprise surprise, the 2nd to last gate on the other wing. Forty mins walk !!!!

And Air Asia's web site is shit some times. Couldn't finish off my booking,,, then it says to refresh as there could be a price change,,, and they were right it had gone up.

And still a processing charge of $12 a person

Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

There is a shortage of staff because they are being sacked all the time for various types of corruption.
