That is a fantastic piece of cinema, I was blown away the first time I watched it.Seasquatch wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2019 5:04 am One of the best war movies I've ever watched - "Come and See".
Silence, exile, and cunning.

This is one of my favorites, just for the opening scene alone.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

"the godfather" (drama mob/mafia) some say best ever, if your young enough to have missed is a must see.... "gladiator" (title says it all) starring Russell Crowe . Finally "the last samurai" starring Tom cruise. Tom cruise really nails the part of a drunken talented soldier captured by the Japanese samurai/army post Civil War Era. The Japanese star (forget his name) award performance too. I have a hunch most expats especially like this movie

I second Aguirre and Dead Man's Shoes.
No list of great films would be complete without some Bergman, as well. Particularly The Seventh Seal.

Can't say I could really see what was wrong with it- except that I got bored watching it. Was looking forward to it, in fact it was the only reason I kept my netflix subscription (after re-joining for El Camino). If I was watching it in the theatre it would definitely have failed the watch test (did I look at my watch?). Accept I'm in the minority there but just didn't dig it.

why bother with netflix when you can get it all online via torrents
or with an android box?

Yes great movie, guess it was an influence for Coppola for Apocalypse Now. Kinski was a psychopath and one of the greatest actors.John Bingham wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2019 10:18 pm This is one of my favorites, just for the opening scene alone.
