Documentary - Howard Ashman on Disney +
Life of a genius lyricist.
The man behind Little Shop of Horrors.
Co wrote the songs (with Alan Menken) for Aladdin, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast.
Just getting the treatment (general story) behind each movie inspired him to write full songs for each movie, before the movie was ever made.
The guy could see exactly how a song should sound in his head and demanded that it be sung that way. His stamp in on the songs, like Walt on animation, or Harry on stop motion animation.
When Kaztenberg announced that ‘part of your world’ needed to be cut from Little Mermaid, Ashman told him that he’d kill him first.
While dying of AIDS in a hospital, he continued to work. The co writer brought in a keyboard and they continued working Aladdin.
One of the the only songwriters (at the time) to win an Oscar after he died. His husband had to receive it for him.
And amazing man.

the blow job scene with the chicken drumstick is........
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Re: Recommended MOVIES
This might appeal to some.. A few excerpts from the YouTube notes:
Cycles South is a classic motorcycle documentary film from 1971 that is surprisingly entertaining for a movie that most people have never heard of. Four young men from Denver Colorado decide to drop everything and see how far they can travel south on the newly paved (then) Pan-American Highway that runs from Alaska to Panama.
This is definitely a motorcycle documentary film from another era. A time before “politically correct” ever existed. It feels a bit like “On Any Sunday” with a Machismo spin. Hedonistic pleasures are explored throughout the film at every opportunity.
We warn you, this film can be a bit cheesy at times. But if you can overlook some of its flaws you’ll enjoy a great historic piece that captures the essence of a true motorcycle adventure.

Re: Recommended MOVIES
The best movie of last year for me. Legends Vinterberg and Mikkelsen join forces again in a story about a group of teachers who attempt to maintain a constant 0.05% blood alcohol level for research purposes. Real cinema, one of the best things that happened in 2020.
