Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Cambodia Breaking News (Phnom Penh): A 45-year-old Chinese man, XIANG NIXIONG, was detained for creating a disturbance in front of the Council of Ministers and attempting to gain access. The Sras Chok police post then handed him over to the police of the Ministry of Investigation and Procedure (Immigration Department).
When questioned by Sras Chok police, the man said that he came to Cambodia on May 5, 2019 and worked in Crown casino in Svay Rieng, but he never got paid. So then, he went to file a complaint at Svay Rieng police station, the Ministry of Interior and the Chinese embassy, but nobody would help him. Finally, on July 30, 2019, the Chinese man went to the Council of Ministers asking for help.

The police there contacted the police in Svay Rieng to ask about the Chinese man's problem. Svay Rieng police said the problem is sorted and that the Chinese man had already received the money owed to him on July 19, 2019.

The Sras Chok police tried to reeducate the Chinese man, but he refused to be reasonable, so the police sent him to the Immigration Department to await deportation.
