60 People Detained for Drugs in Phnom Penh Night Restaurant
Cambodia Breaking News (Phnom Penh): The police of Anti-drug Department of Phnom Penh police station, led by Lieutenant Van Kosal, coordinated by Heung Bunthorn, Phnom Penh prosecutor, and collaborated with Prampi Makara police, cracked down on drug trafficking in Phnom Penh Night Restaurant at 10:30 pm, on July 29, @019, street 242/105, Phnom Penh.
The police detained 60 people and confiscated many motorbikes and others. The suspects and the evidence were sent to the Anti-Drug Department at Phnom Penh police station.

Police arrest 40 drug suspects in the capital
The Interior Ministry’s Anti-Drug Department police, in cooperation with the Phnom Penh Anti-Drug Police Department, yesterday arrested 40 people suspected of drug use and trafficking in the city.
Lieutenant General Sar Theth, municipal police chief, yesterday said that they were arrested at about 2am after police raided Phnom Penh Night Restaurant, which is located in Prampi Makara district’s Beung Prolit commune.
“They were arrested after police raided the Phnom Penh Night Restaurant in the early hours of Tuesday,” he said. “They were arrested while they were using drugs in the restaurant.”
Lt Gen Theth noted that police seized methamphetamine, ecstasy and other related materials from them. However, he did not provide any detail on the amount of drugs that were seized.

Years ago in Vang Vieng an Australian was running a late night club in a concrete building/bunker at the old air strip when one night our shenanigans were interrupted by AK brandishing law keepers. We were searched with those "holding" (mostly opium) forced to cough up on-the-spot fines. Talking to the Australian a few days later he admitted he'd not paid his dues that month. It was suggested by some the bar owner was actually in cahoots with the law getting a kick backs as these busts seemed to happen regularly.
