Flights from AU to PP, best time to book?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Post by bucknaked »

Hi all

last year we booked late for a December trip and it was $740 return from Melbourne
just checked out Webjet and it's telling me a December trip is around $1100 return

think I should hold off?

Webjet links numerous airlines so you can compare prices

I got $607 return by booking Melb-kl-Melb and KL-PP-KL separately instead of Melb-PP-Melb. 2/12/2019 Dep....28/12/2019 Return Skyscanner

The exact day to find the cheapest airfare is 54 days before departure. In general, CheapAir.com recommends that travelers pay close attention during this “Prime Booking Window,” which is from four months to three weeks (or 121 to 21 days) prior to the flight.

Apparently if you ask your question in google that answer pops up.

Thanks I'll check that out, I did see that if I booked return flights and my flight over had a 15hr stop over the price came down to $471, 15hrs, arriving in KL at 3.40 pm, mooching about KL for the evening doesn't seem so bad
Would probably prefer the $607 and just get to PP

good to know, how did we ever survive without Google :)

Oil price seems to be going up and AUD going down. Maybe buy sooner than later.
