According to social media, a tiger was spotted crossing National Road 4 in Sihanoukville province.

Preah Sihanouk Province: A man has reported seeing a tiger crossing National Road 4 at 11:38 pm on July 27, 2019. The tiger allegedly crossed National Highway No.4 at Banteay Teang commune, Prey Nob district, Preah Sihanouk province. The people who have seen it confirm that the tiger is crossing from the Otres river to the jungle of Kbal Chhay.
Residents of the area have to be vigilant and take part in protecting this rare animal.

Curious. I would have thought that even crossing the highway, a tiger would be careful to avoid being seen and human activity (cars)!?

In Sumatra at the end of last year a tiger was shot in a village 5km's from where I was staying, the following morning everyone having the image of the dead tiger on their cell phones. Sadly people were more proud of the fact they had tigers in their area, rather than lamenting the demise of another.

Seems obvious that it is a fake, and so was not reported as news, but as chatter. "News" would be a lion trying to cross the road.

Tigers have long since left the region, leaving the locals alone with the Chinese.
the last time I heard the roar of a tiger in 2013, when we spent the night with a group of my tourists in the jungle.
