Drug Dealer Detained After Taking Hostage and Firing Shots Against Police

Cambodia Breaking News (Phnom Penh): On July 21, 2019, the police of the anti-drug department arrested one of two drug dealers in front of the Chinese Embassy,in Phnom Penh. The suspects fired three gunshots against with the police.

According to the security camera, during the police raid, the suspects drove a motorbike to hit the local bystanders and fired gunshots to threaten them.

The lieutenant Lek Vannak, director of the anti-drug department, reported that police had been searching for the suspects for a week already. While the police were chasing them, the suspects fired two gunshots against the police and then they pointed the gun at a motordop driver as a hostage. But the motordop driver grabbed one of the suspects, who was then detained by police. The police confiscated a K59 gun, a motorbike and three packets of drugs from the suspect.
He was taken to the police station for questioning and case preparation.
