Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Cambodia Breaking News (Phnom Penh): On July 16, 2019, at 09:40 am, local Phnom Penh people assisted a man named Roth, from Koh Kong, who cried and fell unconscious on street 261/218, after he was scammed by a man who he knew for one day on social media.

The victim said he is from Sihanoukville but works in Koh Kong. Before the incident, he knew a man on social media for one day. Then that man suggested they to go to visit Phom Penh together, and he will pay for everything.
The victim had a bag pack and a wallet which held 2 million riel cash, two phones, and jewelry. The suspect told him to put the bag at the back.
On the way, the victim drank a cup of fruit shake. Then they told him to get out of the car for two minutes to switch another car. After that, they took his bag with all his belongings, and left him unconscious by the roadside.

According to people at the scene, they saw the victim was unconscious, so they tried to help him. When he woke up, he cried and said that he had been scammed; he had lost everything.

The police went to the scene and contacted the victim's family to take him home.
