Power outage in NYC

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

Great. No stupid shit going on in Germany? Betcha I could find some.

You're another one who loves pontificating, ruminating and navel gazing about the US.

I am American and don't spend half as much time absorbed with it as you are.

The weird thing is that it occurred exactly 42 years to the date of a famous blackout in NYC on July 13, 1977.

Also, a bit weird is that I was reading about this yesterday without realizing that it was July 13, here:

https://bowiesongs.wordpress.com/?s=blackout

"Bowie, perhaps mischievously, later said the song was a reaction to the New York City power outage of July ’77. And “Blackout” feels like an urban song, all crowds and paranoia..."

It is the only news channel I can get here.

The mass looting of the 70s' one lead to the birth of urban and dance music. So it will be interesting to see what they loot this time.

Not really.

If this was a one-off then I wouldn't care. But it's consistent with you.

You piss on the US. You piss on American tourists that you encounter in your line of work.

It was the cheek of starting the thread that got under my skin.

Not even a news link to the power outage. So we could read what you're on about.

........, you start a thread, that only consisted of a one liner.

Poor form .....

No I think it was a fair comment. I rarely tune in to CNN but just happened to and thought the same thing about the coverage.

But then after a month of four hour load shedding cuts in March/April I guess we are all too used to it to consider a power outage being newsworthy. It was only 80,000 people, not like the recent one in South America that took out all of Argentina and Uruguay, and parts of Paraguay, Chile, and Brazil.

God dammit mods....sausage casings.....lederhosen.....?

That was one of my best zingers in a while........If that was you clutch, I'm going to go and have a soft cry in the bathroom for a bit.

Ah, well. Duly noted.

Truth is, I enjoy poking hanno more than I care about his anti-Americanism. So I'll step away from his thread now. Carry on.
