Before the incident, the older sister cooked six toads caught by her father. After eating, she had serious stomachaches and threw up violently, but the other two girls were not so sick. On July 8, after receiving the information, the police went to the hospital to examine the body. The victim's father and grandmother suspected that they got toad poisoning, and this was confirmed by a medical examination.

The body was taken to prepare for the funeral. Other two girls have returned home and are fully recovered.
