Big marine Diesel engines

Post by davegorman »

So on my travels to PP recently I came across what looked like pumping stations at the side of the road. The engines looked like old ship style marine diesels chugging away. Even from a distance they looked quite cool and massive but we couldn’t stop (on a bus) and I couldn’t get a picture in time.

I’ve googled it and looked on YT but can’t find any info. There’s no salt fields there so I’m guessing they must be for irrigation.
I think they were on NH2 on the dual carriageway road but definitely in that area.

Anyone have any info on them?

Next time I’ll stop and video them. (I love engines of all sorts)
