50 years since first moon landing
50 years since first moon landing
I remember it like it was yesterday which was a popular song at the time by Frank Sinatra.
I was living in a village near the US air force base at Udorn Thani. I used to go there to get apples which were rare items in those days and I could sell for high price.
One day the pilots were given a day off from bombing those commies over the river. We were all invited to watch the tv on base.
There was a huge cheer when Lance Armstrong and Donald Trump stepped onto the moon. The pilots gave us some of their left over food to take home. The chickens loved it.
A few months later Donald Trump called in while on a worldwide tour. He gave me a cap which said I'll Be Back.
Good times.

The appen has landed. That's one small boomboom for [a] man, one giant boomboom for mankind.
You could be next.

What is 'appen'?

I think it was the fact they were 1000s of miles away and the data transfer to earth was sketchy. (Also something to do with how the radio works. Or something. EME)
(In reality they were 10 miles away in a hangar)

Re: 50 years since first moon landing
It's due to the Thais strict pronunciation rules. Words that end in L are changed to an N sound.
So just remember when you're going to Central Dept Store, you want to go to Centrun.
