Everybody in the world is capable of murder and equally despicable actions.

Everybody in the world is equally capable of the most high acts of kindness and altruism.

Its kind of a big part of the human condition.

So, a guy snuffing out another person's life because it's inconvenient that she's pregnant is, well, just another day on planet earth?

This case is extreme, a display of utter contempt for life -- in this case, one life and another to come. So rolling up all murders into one neat "everybody does it" cliche means we should, oh, I don't know, turn our heads and move on?

Phnom Penh, Cambodia Breaking News: Police in the morning of July 28, 2019 sent a Chinese national to court on charges of murder under Article 199 of the Penal Code and intentional violence.
The perpetrator, Yang Yang, a 28-year-old Chinese national risks life imprisonment.

Police said in court that they tracked the suspect by identifying the RX330 white car that he drove to dispose of the body. He had borrowed it from another Chinese man, Jiang Qing Hua, saying that he had to take friends to the airport.

Got to agree, sometimes it seems like every other Chinese thug with enough money for a plane ticket has made his way over here.

Chinese Man Who Murdered Pregnant Girlfriend and Burnt her Body has Sentence Reduced to 10 Years

Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): The Phnom Penh Municipal Court of Appeal on March 15, 2023, announced the verdict on the appeal of a Chinese man sentenced to 15 years imprisonment in connection with murder and concealment of the body. Defendant Yang Yang was arrested on July 23, 2019 at THE PARK WAY Company on Street 273, Sangkat Toul Sangke I, Khan Russey Keo, where he was employed.

Reminder: The defendent was found guilty of stabbing his mistress to death because she told him that she was pregnant and it was too late for her to have an abortion. After the murder, the killer went to the market and bought a large suitcase which he used to transport the woman's body to a deserted spot, where he doused it with petrol and set it on fire. He then ran away to China, before returning to his job in Cambodia.

Following the Chinese man's arrest in 2019, the Phnom Penh Municipal Court on August 25, 2020 convicted him on charges of murder and hiding the body. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison and ordered to pay $ 50,000 in compensation to the victim's family. However, he then appealed.

Yesterday, the Phnom Penh Municipal Court of Appeal ruled to uphold the original guilty verdict against the defendent Yang Yang, but the judge decided to reduced his prison sentence from 15 to 10 years. (He was sentenced in July 2019.)


The victim was named Miao Xi-aolin. She was eight months pregnant and was murdered one week after her 27th birthday.

5 yrs per life.
