Khmer Rouge Currency

Have questions or resources regarding Khmer Culture? This forum is all about the Kingdom of Cambodia's culture. Khmer language, Cambodian weddings, French influence, Cambodian architecture, Cambodian politics, Khmer customs, etc? This is the place. Living in Cambodia can cause you to experience a whole new level of culture shock, so feel free to talk about all things related to the Khmer people, and their traditions. And if you want something in Khmer script translated into English, you will probably find what you need.

Found some!!

1993 5 Riels and 10 Riels
KR Anlong Veng series
Uncirculated $108 each

1975 100 Riels
KR/DK uncirculated $13.50 (bid)

But it is the full sets that would be worth the big $$.

A note of caution - on eBay you can buy the "same" note for either $1900 or $7
I suspect there are rolling fake-to-order operations
- also, eBay is probably not the site serious collectors use
Many notes are in poor condition which usually have little value, even if the note is rare.

There is a collector on social media looking to buy Khmer Rouge currency. These notes are real works of art.

They are colorful but are really hack Photoshop jobs. The Swiss guy who helped create them was executed afterwards!

Really? Do you know the background story to this? I would have assumed they would have had them outsourced rather than locally produced.
