Kratie, Cambodia Breaking News: According to a report by the Kratie provincial police force, on June 26, 2019, at 12:00 midday, people from Daun Pok village, Snoul, Kratie province, reported to police that they had found a burnt body lying next to a burnt out motorbike, about 100 meters off the road in a rubber plantation.
Image
Shortly afterwards, the body was identified as a 23-year-old Cambodian man, Khom Seth, 23, an habitual drug addict living in the village. His grandmother said that on June 26, 2019, at about 10:00am, her grandson went off to cut some scrub at the plantation, saying he would get 2000 riel for the job, and she never saw him again.

The charred body of the murdered man was found at 12pm by people from the village, along with his burnt bike. The police were called to the scene immediately and cordoned off the area. After a thorough investigation of the crime scene, they found three empty cans of Cambodia beer and an empty polystyrene food container, which were impounded as evidence.
Police are continuing their investigations, but based the evidence, it appears likely that the victim knew his murderer(s) and shared beers and some food with them before the situation turned nasty and the killer(s) torched the deceased and his motorbike.

Man killed and burned at Kratie plantation
Police in Kratie province are working hard to seek the arrest of suspects believed to have been involved in the killing and burning of a man at a rubber plantation in Snuol district.

Brigadier General Sum Sokhim, deputy chief of Kratie provincial police, yesterday said the murder took place at about 10.30am on Wednesday at the plantation in Sre Char commune.

Brig Gen Sokhim said officers managed to identify the victim after his parents were contacted.

According to Brig Gen Sokhim, the victim was identified as 23-year-old farmer Khom Sith, who lived in the commune’s Don Pok village.

“According investigation of the crime scene, we’ve concluded that the victim was brutally killed, and burned along with his motorcycle,” Brig Gen Sokhim said. “The victim was terribly burned on top of the fire.”

“We suspect that first killers might have beaten the victim to death,” he added. “After killing him, they collected branches from a nearby forest, arranged them in place, moved the victim’s body and his motorbike on top of the branches.”

“After putting the dead body and the motorbike on top of the branches, they poured gasoline on him and the motorbike and set them on fire before fleeing,” he said.
He noted that according to investigation, police believe at least two people were involved in the killing and burning of the victim.

Kratie province: Not much is new in the latest Khmer news update on this crime on 30 June 2019. Kratie provincial police forces are still searching for the identity of the killers of a young man, now confirmed to be a drug user, who was burnt along with his motorbike in a rubber plantation near Daun Pok village, Srah Chak commune, Snuol district, Kratie province, on June 6, 2019.

It is sure that the murderers carefully constructed a fire to burn the victim's body. It is suggested in latest news that the victim may have been robbed, but the question remains as to why his motorbike was burnt and not stolen by the killers. However, the motorbike catching fire may have been accidental. Police are determined to track down the cold-blooded killers and the search continues.

Warning: Gruesome crime scene photo of the burnt corpse.

If his moto was a junkie's old shitbox then it would not have been worth taking. Does look like they burnt him in situ and it just caught fire, guess they lit him up and fucked off straight away.
