how to deal with the cheating

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Price fixing dependent upon race, colour of skin, gender etc is disgusting,
Try putting up two signs in a UK barber shop, 5 quid haircut for white British men, 10 quid for Pakistanis and see what happens, you would be in court so fast your feet wouldn’t touch the floor, over here it just seems accepted, blatant racism.

Double pricing used to constantly get up my nose as well. Whether it be racist or unfair I realized I'm the only person letting it affect me. and I have a choice to pay the asking price or go somewhere else. Me constantly being pissed off for the rest of the day because someone asked for a dollar or two more than what someone else was paying wasn't worth the pain and puss, so I choose now to suck it up or go somewhere else. I refuse to get out of shape about it, otherwise my whole existence would be constant state of "You c****"

Double pricing ain't gonna change, it goes with the territory. Deal with it!

I agree. And just think of all those blood pressure spikes with the anger of it all. Not worth it.

:stir: I'd see the bus pass every day ... But to me, that was a way of life; we had no choice but to accept what was the custom

I haven’t been here that long but in general I think the best is to send someone local to buy stuff at markets.
