Thanks for putting this together! Adding links, addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers would seem like a useful next step for this list.

You can go if you like but please do not.
Basic care seems OK - but awfully small and sterile habitats.
The Orangatung mock boxing matches are actually OK in themselves, they are probably the sensory high point of these poor animal's long boring day. (although the attitude behind this kind of animal "show" is pretty crass)
It is the basic ignorance/neglect of all the animals phsyco-social needs that is the really bad aspect.
Phnom Tamao is life enhancing - for the visitors, and for the rescued animals.
Fab day wandering around shady dusty tracks, looking at animals you have never even heard of before, making natural play in their generally large "free-range" enclosures.
Non holiday weekdays are really quiet. If you can, take a few Khmer friends and check how proud and caring they can be towards their wild animals. Their response may show you why there is hope for wildlife conservation in this country.

It's not perfect, it is not their natural wild habitat.
But it is much better than the alternative fate for all of these rescued animals
And yes, resources are short and any extra support would be put to good use.
They are at least pointed in the right direction, unlike many other "zoos" in Cambodia and even in the first world.
The bears are a real problem, the numbers of rescued bears keeps climbing, well over a hundred now. Thank the stars for Free the Bears, although they should probably be more accurately renamed, "Better Hotels for the Bears". There is little hope for re-release.
Still a fab day out and great learning experience.
