Cambodia Breaking News (Phnom Penh): 19 people, including 1 woman, were arrested yesterday with 140 packets of drugs at 6:30 pm, on June 17, 2019, in Sangkat Sras Chok, Khan Daun Penh, Phnom Penh. Many people are living in squats along the railway line and there is a lot of small level drug dealing amongst the inhabitants of the area.

In a clean-up operation organized by the Phnom Penh prosecutor, Mr. Long Cheap, and clerk, Oum Phanha, the Lieutenant Rem Mech, deputy director of the Anti-drug Department, cracked down on drug trafficking in the railway area of Sra Chok, and initially arrested four people with 140 small packets of methamphetamine or ICE. After that, the police continued to search along the railway line and arrested another 15 people. The police also confiscated 12 motorbikes.

The suspects and the evidence were sent to the Department of Anti-drug of the Phnom Penh police station for questioning.
