A heart-warming house warming this week:

Cambodia Breaking News (Phnom Penh): Mr. Lek Sosal had a wonderful surprise when he won 40,000,000 riel, equivalent to US$10,000, from a Cambodia Beer ring-pull at his house warming party.

Mr. Kosal said, " I had US$10,000 to build my house, but the total cost was $20,000, so I decided to take a $10,000 loan from the bank. Now I have won $10,000 from Cambodia Beer, so I am able to repay my bank loan right away. Normally, with my job, it would take me six years to pay off my loan, so I am very very happy."

Didn't think it was actually real, never heard of it all these years, about 2 yrs ago I was drinking outside a mini mart on 118 chatting with a tuk tuk driver, he bought me a beer, so I bought him one back, he cracked it and started running up and down the road screaming, I thought calm down its only a free beer, he says no, 'I just won a tv", says you bought me the beer I will sell it and give you half the money!, said no you enjoy yr new tv, love seeing the man on the street winning, I always thought those 'special' beers all went to hoity toity parties.

I wasn't sure how real it was either till I won $1000 on a Cambodia Beer tab last year.

Reminds me of some months ago when I pulled one of those non english ones with 1000 on it and got really excited only for my GF to tell me I won 1000 riel

Yes, I had to wait a few weeks but got the full amount. A few locals tried to say the company would try to pay less but that turned out to be BS.

If not, JB could have gone to a local news outlet and become an instant celebrity claiming barang discrimination..
