Cross-Border Weapons Traffickers Arrested in Siem Reap
Cambodia Breaking News (Siem Reap): Three men have been arrested in Siem Reap for smuggling weapons across the border from Thailand.
The suspects are young men from Siem Reap: Chea Heaphor, 19-year-old, Ly Tangcheng, 20-year-old and Leu Menglong, 19-year-old. At 4:00 pm, on June 05,2019, they were arrested for smuggling weapons, and the police confiscated Glock pistols, gas guns, a passport, a wing card, a Thai insurance card, as well as other equipment.
The suspects confessed the crime; they have been trafficking pistols, gas guns, airguns from Thailand and shipping them to the provinces, but mostly to Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville. The police are preparing the case of the suspects to be submitted to court.

Siem Reap: According to the Anti-Tech Crime Department, cited by National Intelligence Police Chief, Neth Savoeun and coordinated by Mr. Vann Reth, Prosecutor of Siem Reap Court of the First Instance, the three suspects, Chea Hob Hok, Ly Taing Chheng, and Lai Meng Long, confessed to the fact that they imported, processed, and illegally recycled illegal weapons for sale from Thailand to Cambodia, such as handguns and airguns. They were reselling the weapons through Facebook online to buyers in Cambodia.
